about

sunshine seo studio

Whew, I have been on quite the journey through the wedding industry to end up here! Part of the reason I’m so well equipped to help wedding business owners with their marketing is that I don’t just work with the wedding industry, I work in it too.

and the values i bring to my life and business

sunset chaser

You’ll always find me marvelling at a sun-painted sky at the end of a day, which translates into a love of finding the extraordinary in the every-day. This means I’m really great at finding all the many incredible little things that make you and your brand so special, even when they’ve become ‘normal’ to you.

pasta coinnoisseur

It’s not that I’m a pasta snob, it’s just that some shapes are undeniably better than others (special mention to orecchiette). Not only does this mean I care about the little details, it also clearly shows I have great taste…

notebook-and-pen advocate

I don’t own a kindle and I can’t find any satisfaction from making notes in the app. I believe some things are better done the old-school way, which these days means the ‘pre-AI’ way. You’ll never find me using AI to write any of the content I create, because writing is as much a craft as cake artistry, calligraphy or jewellery design.

the story behind the studio

the digital nomad life

I've already figured out just how corny it sounds to say, ‘I was craving freedom so I became a digital nomad and now I want you to feel that in your businesses too’…but hey, maybe we need a little bit more corny in the world.

So, if you were to ask me my ‘why’ I’d say I have a noble reason and a selfish reason - don’t we all?

First, the noble one. I absolutely LOVE the wedding industry, and haven’t we just been dealt a really rough hand the last few years? I get so much satisfaction from helping truly outstandingly talented people thrive in their creative space and remember just how fabulous they are.

And the selfish one? I love to sit in the sun and drink fresh coconuts, and I want to do it for more than 2 weeks a year! I’m just a girl funding her winters in Thailand, don’t mind me.

why i do it

how did I get here?

It all started with the idea that I was going to be a wedding planner. My business was called ‘Honey and Horseshoe’ (cute) and I never planned a single wedding. It wasn’t my calling, and I quickly realised that writing blogs for wedding planners was much more in my wheelhouse. And so ‘The Wedding Industry PA’ was born, and I offered all things to all wedding businesses.

Eventually, I started stepping into my expert knowledge and true skillset, bringing to life So Go Collective. Over a couple of years this has evolved into Sunshine SEO Studio, which reflects my digital nomad lifestyle and does what it says on the tin.

Qualifications

I’m a published author, don’t you know?

At least, that’s how it felt when my parents went to Staples and got my handwritten fairy story backed and spiral bound when I was 10.

If you were to ask me what qualifies me to write blogs, I’d say this: I’ve been an avid reader forever, and it’s well documented that kids that read well often write well too. I’ve also been writing for fun forever (something I should make more time for nowadays!), and am well versed in getting your point across without compromising on style.

I’ve developed a signature writing style - playful and lyrical, always looking for the perfect synonym or new way to describe a colour. I also love a cryptic crossword, and if you’re not convinced by that then I don’t know what else to say.

my no-ai promise

It’s a contentious subject, and AI tools have lots of great uses - but they have no place in crafting the content I produce.

I make a no-AI promise, which means every blog that lands in your inbox comes from my own brain and hands.

I also don’t recommend the use of AI tools within your bespoke blogging or Pinterest strategies, simply because I know that nobody (and no bot) knows your brand, business and brain like you do.

I firmly believe that the wedding industry is built on human connection, and I’m doing my small part to keep it this way.
